INFORMATION

Eglinton Country Park is 400 hectares of countryside set aside for leisure and recreation and is a great place for a family day out. What's more - it's free! No car parking charges, no entry fee, nothing to pay.

And there's plenty to do. You might choose to take a quiet walk in the woodlands, around the loch or through the gardens. Have a relaxing day out, bring along a picnic and enjoy yourself in and around the visitor centre and children's play areas.

The visitor centre is the place to find out what's on at the park and what you can do there. It houses an exhibition on the magnificent history of the park which was once the seat of the montgomery family and the gift shop is well stocked with souvenirs and books.

Cyclists are very welcome there is a good network of cycle tracks linking the park to Irvine, Kilwinning, Ardrossan, Glasgow and beyond.

Eglinton park is run by a ranger service who offer a programme of guided walks and events from easter and july - september
